Terri Jo Dodson has been performing for audiences since childhood as part of a sister group, the Dodson Sisters. They recorded their first record in Denver, Colorado when Terri Jo was just 14 years old. During her college years at the University of Nebraska, Terri Jo started performing folk music in the style of Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez.
Fronting many bands over the years, including country, folk, rock, blues, and new-age genres, and appearing as a harmony vocalist on many other artists' recordings, Terri Jo has stayed in the spotlight as a sought-after singer. Her soft and alluring vocals have won her the recognition of regional audiences and other well-known musicians.
Having won songwriting competitions including Walnut Valley New Songs among others, Terri Jo also instructs workshops in songwriting as she tours in the midwest. Having taken 6 years off from touring in 2001 to 2007 to open and operate her own coffeehouse, Terri Jo kicked off a new touring schedule with her Prairie Dog Music release, her third CD.
Terri Jo currently performs as a soloist, as lead singer in
a rock/blues band called, Dubious Brothers & Sister Red, as
part of the a cappella trio, Baby
Needs Shoes and the acclaimed Nebraska band, Jazz Factory.
